Injury RTC in Hamilton Parish - At 6:55pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Coney Island Road involving two motorcycles and a pedestrian. It appears that both motorcycles were traveling along North Shore Road and the pedestrian was walking along the same road when the collision occurred. As a result the pedestrian, a 56 year old Pembroke man as well as one of the motorcyclists, a 45 year old St. George’s man were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Speed Checks & Arrest for Outstanding Warrants - At 11:55pm on Saturday, Police were conducting speed checks along Kindley Field Road in St. George’s when they had cause to stop a motorist regarding a traffic offence. Further inquiries at the scene revealed the 34 year old Southampton man had outstanding warrants. As a result he was arrested and detained.

Injury RTC - Around 7:05pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Hermitage Road in Devonshire involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Middle Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 43 year old Paget man, sustained a head injury. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. The driver of the car, a 34 year old Devonshire woman, was not injured. Both vehicles received relatively minor damage.

Around 4:20pm on Friday, February 18th 2011 Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at the junction of Middle Road and Chaingate Hill in Devonshire. At this time it appears that a car and a motorcycle collided. As a result the motorcyclist has been taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital with head injuries. Currently his condition is unknown. As an extreme measure of caution officers from the Traffic Collision Investigation Unit are on scene and we are asking for the public’s indulgence as they conduct their inquiries.

Text Message Regarding Alleged Attempted Child Abduction - The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a text message being circulated claiming that a man attempted to abduct a boy from the bus terminal. The message goes on to detail the vehicle allegedly used and the suspected perpetrator.
Police have received several calls from concerned parents and members of the public about this text message; however no reports of anything similar occurring locally have been received.
Former Police Officer Turns 102!

Milton Murray Marsh [pictured with current Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, see video] was born in Charlestown, Nevis, in the British West Indies on 17th February 1909. He was raised 
between Charlestown and Basseterre, St. Kitts, and his father, Arthur Alexander Marsh was a police officer, so perhaps law enforcement was in his blood. After leaving school Milton worked for a time in a hardware store in Basseterre and he then became Assistant to the Head Store Man in the Works Department (similar to the old Public Works Department in Bermuda).

Dog Attack in Pembroke - At 11am on Tuesday, February 15th 2011 Police received a report of a dog attack. It appears that sometime between 10am and 10:30am that day the victim, a 59 year old Pembroke woman, was walking in Admiralty House Park near the beach when she noticed a man and a dog in the area. As she walked by the dog, which apparently at that time was not on a leash, it attacked her. The unknown man eventually pulled the dog off the victim and left the scene. The Pembroke woman sustained injuries to her arm and was subsequently taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment by a member of the public who was driving along Spanish Point Road.

Brothers Jailed After Brawl - Keino Lambert, 20 and Kevin Lambert, 21 both of Sandys parish appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 14th 2011 to stand trial regarding a disturbance that took place outside a North Shore Road, Devonshire nightclub during the early morning hours of Saturday, December 18th 2010 where a Taser and Captor spray had to be deployed by attending police officers.

Driving Whilst Impaired - At 12:25am on Sunday, Police were on mobile patrol on North Shore Road in Devonshire when they observed a motorcycle traveling west swerving in an erratic manner. The man was eventually stopped and officers observed the rider’s eyes to be glazed. He also appeared unsteady on his feet and his breath smelled of alcohol. As a result he was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst impaired and taken to Hamilton Police Station where he was breath tested. The suspect failed the breath test and was subsequently detained.
