Text Message Regarding Alleged Attempted Child Abduction - The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a text message being circulated claiming that a man attempted to abduct a boy from the bus terminal. The message goes on to detail the vehicle allegedly used and the suspected perpetrator.

Police have received several calls from concerned parents and members of the public about this text message; however no reports of anything similar occurring locally have been received.

Once again we would caution members of the public against circulating unverified information and encourage anyone with any specific information about this or any other unlawful activity to contact the main Police number 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Police Patrols Find All Quiet Overnight

Police officers conducted mobile patrols in various areas of the island overnight with no unusual activity encountered. Areas patrolled from 7pm Thursday, February 17th – 7am Friday, February 18th included but were not limited to –

• Heydon Drive, Sandys parish
• Mangrove Bay Road, Sandys parish
• Court Street / Elliot Street, Pembroke
• Middle Town Drive / Curving Avenue, Pembroke
• South Road, Southampton
• Spanish Point Road, Pembroke
• Sun Valley Road, Warwick
• Pain Lane East, St. George’s
