Injury RTC in Hamilton Parish - At 6:55pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Coney Island Road involving two motorcycles and a pedestrian. It appears that both motorcycles were traveling along North Shore Road and the pedestrian was walking along the same road when the collision occurred. As a result the pedestrian, a 56 year old Pembroke man as well as one of the motorcyclists, a 45 year old St. George’s man were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The St. George’s man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The other motorcyclist, a 27 year old Pembroke man, was not injured. Both motorcycles received moderate damage. Motorists were diverted away from the scene while traffic collision investigators conducted their inquiries. Subsequently traffic flow in the area returned to normal. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and any witnesses are encouraged to contact PC Wesley Watson on 295-0011.

Road Safety Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Burglary Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries by making sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
