Traffic Advisory: March on Parliament

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the motoring public that during a scheduled march on Parliament starting at 1pm Thursday, May 1st vehicular traffic will be prohibited along sections of the following streets until the procession has concluded.

Around 2:20pm on Tuesday, April 29th first responders attended a reported collision at the junction of Crow Lane and Berry Hill Road in Paget.
An armed response officer riding a police motorcycle was responding to a priority call for service when he collided with a curb near the north round-a-bout.

Around 11:20pm on Sunday, April 27th first responders attended a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Honey Hill.
The injured motorcyclist, a 28 year old Warwick man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was recovering in stable condition on a general ward. Traffic was diverted away from the area while collision investigators examined the scene.

At about 10:45pm on Wednesday 23rd April 2014 – Police officers responded to a report of gunshots in Riviera Crescent, Southampton. Police officers responded to this incident and attended #16 Riviera Crescent, where officers were directed to a male who was suffering from suspected gun-shot wounds.

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro - Around 10:45pm on Wednesday, April 23rd officers received reports of gunshots in the Riviera Crescent, Southampton area. On attendance in the area they found a 29 year old male inside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds. He has been conveyed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he has been declared deceased. A full murder enquiry is underway by officers from the Serious Crime Unit of the Bermuda Police Service and information will be forthcoming in the near future.
Pedestrian Injured in Collision With Car

Around 4:15pm on Monday, April 21st first responders attended a reported collision on Crow Lane in Pembroke near the junction with Corkscrew Hill.
It appears that a car was being driven along Crow Lane and an eight year old boy was utilizing the pedestrian crossing near the north round-a-bout when the collision occurred.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their cooperation over the Easter holiday weekend as there were no significant incidents of anti-social behaviour reported.
However, over the weekend police officers arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.
Man Seriously Injured After Apparent Fall in Hamilton Parish

Around 3am on Saturday, April 19th first responders were dispatched to a report of an injured man outside a Redkiln Road, Hamilton parish residence.
The victim, a 49 year old Hamilton parish man, apparently fell approximately ten feet off a wall at his home to the pavement below.
He was treated at the scene by EMTs before being transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.
Power Restored to CCTV Cameras After Brief Hiatus

Assistant Commissioner of Police Paul Wright - The Bermuda Police Service would like to inform the public that the power to the GET owned CCTV poles was disconnected yesterday before the transfer of ownership of the poles had concluded.
The transfer of ownership has now been completed and BELCO have resumed powering the CCTV cameras that were temporarily without power. We wish to extend our thanks to GET Ltd., BAS-SERCO, and BELCO for working expeditiously to resolve this issue.
Reported Serious Collision in Hamilton Parish

Around 11:30am on Thursday, April 17th first responders attended a reported serious collision at the junction of North Shore Road and Rocky Lane in Hamilton parish.
It appears that a motorcycle was being ridden along North Shore Road when a collision occurred with a male pedestrian.
