25-Year-Old Man Stabbed at Horseshoe Bay on Bermuda Day

Around 7:15pm Friday, 28th May (Bermuda Day) police officers responded to a reported disturbance at Horseshoe Bay in Southampton.
Approximately 15 minutes later, police officers also responded to a reported disturbance at Chaplin Bay in Warwick.
However, on arrival at both locations, nothing untoward was encountered.
Detectives later learned that a 25-year-old man, who had been at Horseshoe Bay beach earlier Friday evening, attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of a stab wound to his abdomen.
At last check the injury was not considered life threatening and the young man was listed in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Police patrols will also be vigilant regarding compliance by members of the public and businesses to current COVID-19 protocols.
Two Males Arrested After Fight Outside Berkeley Institute

Around 3:30 p.m. today, Monday 17th May, police responded to a report of a fight involving a group of four males, outside the Berkeley Institute.
Callers reported one of the males was armed with a knife, while another was carrying a baseball bat.
Upon arrival, police received information that two of the males involved in the incident left on a motorcycle and two others had gone to a nearby residence.
Officers attended the residence and arrested the two males who allegedly were armed.
There were several witnesses to this incident and police are appealing for individuals, particularly a woman who recorded the incident on a cell phone to please call 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank those members of the public who have already assisted by providing information which helped in identifying the two suspects who were subsequently arrested.
18 Year Old Man Arrested in Connection With Stabbing & Robbery

Detectives have arrested an 18 year old male in connection with the stabbing & robbery of a 16 year old male on Friday evening.
Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro said: “Evidence obtained by officers led them to make the arrest. A second male has also been interviewed in relation to this serious matter.
The young male victim remains in hospital, being treated for serious injuries.
We would like to thank those members of the public who have come forward so far, as we recognize that we are reliant on the public to help make us all safer.
16 Year Old Male Hospitalised After Stabbing Incident [Updated]

Shortly before 5:45 p.m. yesterday, Friday 7th May, Police and Emergency Medical Services personnel were dispatched to a reported stabbing incident at an area opposite the Southampton Rangers field on South Road, Southampton.
Upon arrival it was ascertained the victim, a sixteen-year-old male, suffered stab wounds to the torso, but was conscious and breathing.
He was attended to at the scene by EMTs and transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, for treatment to his injuries, which were described as life threatening.
The suspect in this matter is described as a dark brown complexioned, black male with a short haircut, wearing teal coloured pants and a dark top.
There were a number of individuals who reportedly witnessed this incident and while investigators have already spoken with some of them, there are others they urgently need to hear from as they look to bring whomerver is responsible for this brazen act of violence before the courts.
Renewed Jordan Outerbridge Murder Witness Appeal

Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge, BPS Crime Division - Sadly, today marks one month since the brutal murder of Jordan Outerbridge. One month since his children lost a father, and a wife lost her husband.
Despite our continued best efforts, we have so far not received the public response we had hoped for in a case that involved the senseless killing of a man.
As such, we are re-issuing a call for anyone who may know anything about the murder of Jordan Outerbridge, to come forward and say something.
Crime Stoppers can be a very helpful option in that regard.

Renewed Appeal for Witnesses to Recent Fatal & Serious Injury Collisions

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) continues to investigate Tuesday evening’s two separate fatal collisions – as well as the serious injury collision that left two motorcyclists hospitalised – and would like to thank those witnesses that have already come forward, while making a renewed appeal for specific witnesses / information.
Constable Nidra McKenzie–Simons is the investigating officer for the collision that claimed the life of 56-year-old Marvin Lambe (third road fatality of 2021), which occurred at the pedestrian crossing outside the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo.
Chief Inspector Glasford to Take Over Professional Standards Department

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) wishes to announce the departure of Superintendent Gill Murray, who has completed a period of secondment in charge of the service’s Professional Standards Department (PSD).
It is further announced that Chief Inspector Arthur Glasford will take over this important role going forward.
Commissioner of Police Stephen Corbishley stated: “The BPS places professionalism at the heart of everything we do. The work of our Professional Standards Department has been at the forefront of this work to ensure we secure and protect the confidence of local communities in the work we deliver each and every day.
I am delighted for Superintendent Murray who goes on to promotion with her home police service, the British Transport Police. Her leadership with the BPS has been first class.
She has contributed greatly to our work and I consider that has assisted the next step she has achieved in her policing career.
Our congratulations go with her as she departs. I am also delighted to welcome Chief Inspector Glasford into this role.
Mr. Glasford is a seasoned detective and senior leader whom I have no doubt will continue the essential work we do in this area."
Two Motorcyclists Require Hospital Treatment After Devonshire Collision

Two motorcyclists – said to be a 40-year-old Sandys parish man and a 21-year-old Sandys parish woman – required treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after colliding in the vicinity of Devonshire Bay around 6pm Tuesday, 4th May. Both motorcycles were extensively damaged.
It now appears that the 21-year-old woman was riding east along South Road and attempted to turn onto Devonshire Bay Road, while the 40-year-old man was riding west along South Road, when the collision occurred at the junction of South Road and Devonshire Bay Road in Devonshire.
Apparently the 21-year-old woman sustained facial injuries, while the 40-year-old man sustained a broken rib and an ankle injury. At last check both remained in the hospital.
Fourth Road Fatality for 2021: 81-Year-Old Leon Eugene Thomas

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 81-year-old Eugene Thomas and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Mr. Thomas – believed to be a Southampton resident – was seriously injured when he attempted to walk across South Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road and was struck by a motorcycle being ridden west along South Road around 5:47pm Tuesday, 4th May.
Despite lifesaving efforts at the crash site and being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, sadly Mr. Thomas was later pronounced dead.
The motorcyclist involved, said to be a 19-year-old Paget man, apparently sustained injuries to his leg and back and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. He was also arrested and later bailed in connection with this fatal collision.
