Around 12:55pm today, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision near the junction of Point Pleasant Road and Front Street in the City of Hamilton. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear; however, it appears that a car traveling on Point Pleasant Road accidentally collided with some parked motorcycles/auxiliary cycles resulting in damage only to the vehicles. Apparently the driver of the car was not injured. Therefore no further Police action is anticipated.
At 12:10pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Cobbs Hill Road, Warwick premises. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime during the early morning hours of Saturday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of various food items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 6:20pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Pearmans Hill, Warwick residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 8:15am and 2:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 9:40 this morning, Police received a report of an industrial accident at a Mid Ocean Drive, Hamilton parish construction site. It appears that a crane was working in the area when it went down a steep hill and the operator, a 50 year old Pembroke man, was unable to bring it to a stop. The Pembroke man then jumped from the machine, sustaining a fractured right arm & hip. The crane ended up on its side and received moderate damage.
At 2:25pm today, Police received a report of a sudden death at John Smith's Bay in Smith's parish. Details about the incident are unclear; however the victim, a 53 year old male visitor to the island, was rushed to KEMH via ambulance from the beach area in an unresponsive state and subsequently pronounced dead at 3:08pm by an on call physician. However, there are no suspicious circumstances. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified.
At 8:20 this morning, Police received a report of a burglary at a Third Avenue, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 10pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and a silver Suzuki Vitara jeep. The vehicle was subsequently recovered. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
