Reported Serious Collision in Devonshire: Two Boys Injured

Shortly after 7pm on Sunday, 26th March, 2023, police and other first responders were dispatched to a serious road traffic collision involving a motor car and a pedal cycle near the junction of Brighton Hill Road and Brighton Lane in Devonshire.
Reports are the 13 year old male pedal bike rider, suffered abrasions to his knees and hands and his 7 year old male pillion passenger suffered a suspected broken leg.
They were both transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for further treatment for those injuries.
The male driver of the motorcar was unhurt.
The scene has now been closed off to vehicular traffic while it is being processed by Traffic Collision Investigators and officers from the Forensics Support Unit.

The Bermuda Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance with its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a male who was involved in an altercation on Clyde Best Lane, Sandys on Saturday, 25th March 2023.
Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have used their mobile phone to record the incident which started near the junction of Hook and Ladder Lane and Middle Road, before it shifted to Clyde Best Lane.
There were several people in the area at the time as there were football games in progress on the nearby Somerset Cricket Club field.

Man Dies After Altercation in Sandys Parish

Around 9:35am on Saturday, 25th March 2023, police were dispatched to a report of an altercation involving several men, on Somerset Road, near to the junction of Hook and Ladder Lane, Sandys.
The altercation eventually shifted onto Clyde Best Lane.
The circumstances surrounding the altercation are unclear at this time, however, one of the men involved was transported to KEMH with life threatening injuries.
He has since succumbed to those injuries.
Police have cordoned off Clyde Best Lane while detectives process the scene.

Stabbing Incident in Sandys Parish

Around 3:40 p.m. on Monday 20th March, 2023, police received a report that several males were fighting on Cambridge Road in Somerset.
Upon arrival officers observed a male with a stab wound to the back.
He was transported via private vehicle to hospital for treatment for his injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.
Cambridge Road has been cordoned off whilst enquiries into this matter continue.

Theft From Jewellery Store

Around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 17th, 2023, Police were dispatched to E.R. Aubrey at #19 Queen Street, City of Hamilton, in response to a reported robbery.
Upon arrival, officers were informed a male entered the store and requested to see a gold chain that was on display.
The man is reported to have snatched the chain from a store clerk’s hand and ran out of the store without payment.
He made his way to the Queen Elizabeth Park where it was reported he jumped onto a waiting motorbike ridden by another person and fled the scene.
The subject who snatched the chain is described as light brown complexioned, 5’ 7” in height, thin built, wearing dark clothing, Manchester United mask, black hat and sneakers.
Checks were conducted in the areas of Queen Elizabeth Park, Par-la-Ville Road, Queen Street, Reid Street and Church Street, with negative results.

Clarke Fox Murder Investigation Witness Appeal

The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) is renewing its appeal for information in connection with the murder of Clarke Fox and the attempted murder of Kyari Flood.
Mr. Fox was fatally shot and Mr. Flood wounded, three years ago, on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020, in broad daylight on Court Street in Pembroke.
The two suspects were on a dark coloured motorcycle. The rider was wearing a light coloured sweat top, blue jeans, multi-coloured sneakers, gloves and a dark coloured full faced helmet. The passenger was wearing a dark coloured jacket, dark coloured pants, dark sneakers, a white helmet with tinted full faced visor and was in possession of a firearm.
The suspect motorcycle travelled south on Court Street and the pillion passenger discharged multiple shots towards Mr. Fox and Mr. Flood [the two victims] who were standing near the junction of Court Street and Elliot Street, Pembroke.
The two victims ran south on Court Street towards Dundonald Street, as the suspect vehicle pursued them and the passenger continued to discharge the weapon in their direction.
In an attempt to flee the shooter, Mr. Fox and Mr. Flood turned around and ran north on Court Street, heading back towards Elliot Street. The suspect motorcycle turned around and continued to pursue Mr. Fox and Mr. Flood, with the pillion passenger continuing to discharge the firearm in the direction of the two victims. The suspects then made good their escape on the dark coloured motorcycle, traveling west on Elliot Street, leaving the area.
Mr. Fox was transported to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. Mr. Flood was also transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.”
Senior Investigating Officer Acting Detective Chief Inspector Jason Smith emphasized: “This incident occurred at 2:45pm, the middle of the afternoon, on a busy street that contains multiple residences and businesses. There were people on the street and patrons inside businesses that had to take cover to avoid being shot.
The suspect discharged the firearm indiscriminately, which resulted in the fatal shooting of Clarke Fox and the wounding of Kyari Flood. Police are again appealing to witnesses or anyone who may have information on this incident, to contact myself, Acting Detective Chief Inspector Jason Smith, by calling the Serious Crime Unit on 717-0864. Alternatively, you may contact the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers number 800-8477 or, share the information with a police officer you know.”
Joint Operation With H.M. Customs Results in Drugs Seizure and Arrests

On Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, the Bermuda Police Service (BPS), conducted a joint operation with H.M. Customs.
The BPS Drugs Unit, assisted by the Financial Crime Unit and Tactical Division executed warrants at a business in the City of Hamilton and residences in the Devonshire and Pembroke Parishes.
During the operation a container shipment was seized.
A subsequent search of the container led to several packages containing the suspected controlled drug cannabis, with an estimated street value of $BDA 1.9 million being seized.
Four persons have been arrested in relation to this operation.
Acting Detective Superintendent Sherwin Joseph who is in charge of the Crime Division stated: “This operation has disrupted the illegal activities of a well-organized crime group here in Bermuda, and has dealt a severe blow to their well-established illegal importation pipeline. We are thankful for the partnership with H.M. Customs, who assisted us with this operation”.
An Island Construction Services truck was contracted to assist with removing the container to a secure location so that it could be properly searched. No one associated with Island Construction Services was arrested or interviewed in relation to this operation.
The BPS Drug Unit will continue this investigation which is now at a critical stage and no further information will be provided at this time”.
18-Year-Old Rider Hospitalised After Collision With Van

Around 1:05pm Tuesday, 14th March 2023, a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a van occurred on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish, near the junction with Broken Hill Road.
It appears that the motorcycle was being ridden east along Harrington Sound Road and the van was being driven out of a driveway to head west along Harrington Sound Road when the vehicles collided.
The motorcycle rider, now understood to be an 18-year-old St. George’s woman, sustained leg and facial injuries.
She was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check remained hospitalised with injuries that were considered serious, but not life threatening.
The van driver, said to be a 70-year-old Warwick man, was not hurt.
Traffic in the area was diverted for approximately three hours, while the collision scene and damaged vehicles were processed.

Three People Hurt in Three Vehicle Pembroke Collision Friday Night

Three people were transported to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle serious road traffic collision which happened shortly after 7:00p.m. on Friday, March 10th, 2023.
The incident which occurred along St John's Road at its junction with Berkeley Road, involved a motorcar and two motorcycles.
The motorcar driven by a 67-year-old male, had stopped at the stop sign at the junction of Berkeley Road and St John's Road, when a motorcycle ridden by a 36-year-old male, traveling in an easterly direction along St John's Road overtook another vehicle.
Another motorcycle ridden by a 22-year-old female and her 18-year-old female pillion passenger, traveling in a westerly direction approaching the said junction, initiated a right turn to turn onto Berkeley Road and subsequently entered into the path of the 36 year old male, which resulted in a collision.
The male motorcyclist who was reported to be unresponsive at one point, suffered a possible fracture to right arm and collar bone.
The female motorcyclist suffered injuries to her right wrist and both knees, while her pillion passenger sustained a suspected broken left leg.
The injured parties were subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance, for further treatment of their injuries, none of which were considered life threatening.
The driver of the car was not reported to have been injured.
Traffic diversions were put in place while the scene was being processed by a Traffic Collision Investigator and an officer from the Forensic Support Unit.

Collision Involving Unmarked Police Vehicle

Shortly after 8:10 a.m. on Friday, March 10th, 2023, police attended a three vehicle road traffic collision involving an unmarked police vehicle and two motorcycles, near the junction of North Shore Road and Middle Road, Flatts.
The unmarked police vehicle was traveling on North Shore Road, Flatts. As the driver approached the roundabout near the junction with Middle Road the vehicle slowed due to the flow of traffic.
A male motorcycle rider, collided with the rear bumper of the police vehicle.
A female motorcycle rider, who was who was following behind, tried to avoid the collision.
She lost control of the bike and slid out on the roadway.
She sustained minor injuries to her ankle and knee.
The male motorcycle rider suffered a minor hand injury.
The male driver (a police officer), of the police vehicle was uninjured in the collision.
There were some delays as traffic flow had to be restricted for a short period.
