Burglary - Around 11:15pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Mount Hill, Pembroke residence. It appears that an intruder gained entry into the home and was confronted by one of the occupants before making good his escape empty handed. No one was injured. The suspect, a 42 year old Pembroke man, was subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are underway.

Police firearms officers executed a search warrant at a Pembroke residence during the evening of Saturday 8th January, 2011. The investigation is being led by the Serious Crime & Drugs Units of the Bermuda Police Service.

Update: Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 19 year old Kevin Faries of Warwick. The lifeless body of Mr. Faries was found outside a Rockland Crescent, Warwick residence around 11:15am on Sunday. An autopsy is anticipated in due course and inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of the deceased. Police are looking at all possible lines of inquiry and pending the autopsy, no further comment can be made at this time. Police responded to an incident that took place today at 11:13am in Warwick. Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a 19 year old man was found in a non responsive state outside a residence on Rockland Crescent in Warwick. No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified. Active inquiries into this incident are underway and foul play has not been ruled out.
Burglary - Around 9:50am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Jones Village Lane, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime between 8:10am and 2pm on Tuesday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home. The unknown subject stole a black Blackberry cellular phone. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 10:15am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at the Salvation Army Thrift Store on King Street in Pembroke. It appears that an unknown subject gained entry into the store and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
At 12:13pm today, Police responded to a report of gunshots outside Hayward's on Middle Road in Warwick. A short time later, a vehicle of interest in the inquiry failed to stop for Police on Cedar Hill and was involved in a collision with a Police vehicle. There are no reported injuries at this time and a 26 year old man was arrested. Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge of the Serious Crime Unit: Court Appearance of Kofi Omar Dill & Thajya Simons on Gun Charges This Morning - On Wednesday January 5th, 2011 two persons appeared in Hamilton Magistrates' Court to be charged with firearms offences. These charges stem from a Police firearms operation that saw these two persons arrested in the Government Gate area of Pembroke and the recovery of a loaded firearm, on Wednesday 22nd December, 2010.
At 12:17pm today, Police responded to a road traffic collision that took place at the junction of South Road and Lovers Lane in Paget. It appears that one vehicle was exiting Lovers Lane and another was traveling along South Road when they collided. As a result one car ended up on a wall on Lovers Lane. No one was injured but both vehicles were extensively damaged. An investigation into this incident is underway.
Damage Only RTC - Around 4:25pm on Monday, Police attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of Somerset Road and Scaur Hill Drive in Sandys. It appears that the car was traveling along Somerset Road when the driver, a 39 year old Sandys man, collided with a wall. The driver was not injured. The car received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
