Double Murder Investigation Ongoing

Detective Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro - The Bermuda Police Service continues to actively investigate the circumstances of the murders of Mr. Ricco Furbert & Mr. Haile Outerbridge.

Whilst we had hoped to obtain a full range of forensic results by the conclusion of the detention period of both suspects, this was not possible. The Bermuda Police Service is reliant on our overseas forensic partners in this process.

Warwick Firearm Incident: No One Injured - Around 7pm on Tuesday, February 12th police officers responded to reports of gun shots being fired in the Bulkhead Drive, Warwick area.

While it was forensically confirmed that a firearm was discharged in that area, there were no reported injuries. The scene was secured and an active investigation has commenced into this confirmed firearm incident.

Update: Reported Serious Collision in Devonshire - At last check the 33 year old Smith's parish man seriously injured in a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision along Palmetto Road in Devonshire around 1:45am Monday, February 11th remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

It appears that the victim was riding a motorcycle along Palmetto Road when he collided with a traffic island in the area of Barkers Hill.

Police and first responders attended a report of a serious road traffic collision that took place in the early hours of this morning.

It appears that a 33 year old Smith's parish man was riding a motorcycle along Palmetto Road in Devonshire when he collided with a traffic island in the area of Barkers Hill.

Investigation Ongoing: St. David’s Variety Robbery - The investigation into the St. David’s Variety store robbery that occurred around 9:30pm Wednesday, February 6th is ongoing.

Detectives are pursuing all lines of inquiry, including analyzing CCTV footage, to bring the offender to justice.

The Bermuda Police Service is seeking the public's assistance in locating 52 year old Amanda Hunt, who was last seen yesterday near the bus stop at Craddock Road in Sandys at 8pm.

She is described as 5 feet tall, dark complexioned, with a close short hair cut and of slim build. She was last seen in a black jacket, blouse, jeans and boots.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Amanda Hunt should call police on 295-0011.

Robbery at St. David’s Variety - At 9:30pm on Wednesday, February 6th police officers responded to a reported robbery at St. David’s Variety. It appears that the store owner and a family member were inside the premises when a lone offender entered brandishing what appeared to be a firearm and demanded money. The offender then fled on foot with a quantity of cash. No one was injured.

An extensive search of the surrounding area was conducted; however the suspect was not located.

Reported Arson Under Investigation - Inquiries are underway into a reported arson after eight motorcycles were damaged by fire on Angle Street in Pembroke under suspicious circumstances earlier this morning. Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious individuals or activity in the Angle Street, Pembroke area around 6am Wednesday, February 6th to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 247-1744 at the earliest opportunity.
