Reported Armed Robbery at Mr. Chicken in Southampton

The Bermuda Police Service responded to a report of an armed robbery that took place tonight (Tuesday) at 9:50pm at Mr. Chicken Restaurant located in the Heron Bay Plaza next to Marketplace in Southampton.   

It appears that a male, around 6'1" tall wearing dark clothing came into the restaurant, brandished what is believed to be a firearm and made demands of money while a second male stayed outside on a motorcycle. The first male was given an undisclosed amount of cash.

Once again the Bermuda Police Service would like to remind members of the public to remain vigilant regarding phone calls, e-mails and other correspondence from unknown persons that attempt to obtain personal information or other sensitive data.

Members of the public continue to report unknown callers contacting them to offer help with alleged glitches reportedly affecting their home computers.

Two Vehicle Collision in Paget

Around 5:40pm on Saturday, November 22nd first responders were dispatched to a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Stowe Hill.

It appears that a car was being driven along South Road and an auxiliary cycle was being ridden along the same road when the vehicles collided.

The injured rider, a 16 year old Devonshire girl, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later discharged.

Man Charged With Sandys Parish Remembrance Day Firearm Incident

Acting Assistant Commissioner James Howard - Just over a week ago I stood in front of the media and public of Bermuda and made a pledge that the Bermuda Police Service would do everything in our power to bring the perpetrators of shootings that took place on Remembrance Day to justice.

To date, a 29 year old Sandys parish man has been placed before the courts and we are following up other significant lines of enquiry.

Traffic Advisory: Paget Traffic Lights Currently Out of Order [Updated]

As a result, a police officer is posted at the Middle Road, South Road Paget junction to direct traffic.

Ongoing Witness Appeal: Cash Stolen From Sandys Laundrette

Inquiries are ongoing into a reported theft from a laundrette in the plaza adjacent to The Market Place in Sandys parish that occurred around 2:55pm Monday, November 17th.

Apparently two unarmed male offenders quickly entered the premises and made good their escape with a quantity of cash.

Police Encourage Motorcycle Owners & Buyers to be Vigilant

Inspector Robert Cardwell, Officer in Charge of the Roads Policing Unit - The Bermuda Police Service continues to regularly record incidents where motorcycles are reported to have been ‘taken without the owner’s consent’ – referred to as TWOC.

To date there have been 728 such reports compared to 599 at the same time last year.

Cash Stolen From Laundrette in Sandys Parish

At 2:55pm today, police attended an incident that took place at Launderette in the plaza adjacent to The Market Place in Sandys parish. It appears that two individuals entered the premises, made demands of money and escaped with an unknown quantity of cash.

Police have now commenced an investigation into the incident and we are appealing for anyone who may have seen individuals in the area, particularly The Market Place, Dollar Depot area acting suspiciously, to contact police on 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.
