Around 1:20pm today, Police received a report of an assault at a Crawl Point Lane West, Hamilton parish residence. It appears that the victim, a 25 year old Pembroke man, was dropped off at the house by a friend and found two unknown men inside. A struggle ensued between the Pembroke man, his friend and the two intruders. During the struggle, the 25 year old was stabbed in his left side by one of the suspects.
Police received a report of what appears to be a serious single vehicle road traffic collision on Parsons Lane in Pembroke around 8:10 this morning. Details remain unclear at this time; however, a 24 year old Pembroke man was found by a member of the public unconscious, but breathing at the scene, near a motorcycle. The victim was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment, but no further update on his condition is available at this time.
Around 5:50 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at an Alexandra Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that around 5:20am she awoke to find 3 men in her home. The men demanded money; then searched the house, removing $500 in cash before making good their escape.
The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that an incident took place at an Alexandra Road, Devonshire residence around 5:20 this morning where 3 men gained entry into the home and threatened the female occupant with what may have been a firearm. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing; however, it appears to be a case of mistaken identity, as the female occupant of the residence does not appear to be the intended target of the suspects.
To clarify some of the reports in the local media recently concerning Police officers ticketing drivers using cellular phones for driving without due care and attention:
Inquiries into the attempted murder of a 19 year old Devonshire man and the murder of 18 year old Jason Lightbourne in the same night are continuing. We would like to assure the public that resources available within the Bermuda Police Service and outside of the Bermuda Police Service are being used in the course of both investigations.
Around 9:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at Purvis Primary School in Warwick. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:30am on Monday and 6:10pm on Tuesday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the school.
At 8:55pm on Monday, Police attended a reported robbery on Rose Hill Street in St. George's. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, who is a visitor to the island. She stated that she was walking back to her accommodation with her family after having dinner at an area restaurant when she was approached by two unknown men.
At 6:30pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Point Shares Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 3pm and 6:10pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was asleep in his bedroom.
Around 2:15am on Saturday, Police (the Police Support Unit & numerous uniform and non-uniform units) attended a reported disturbance at the Ozone Nightclub on Front Street in Pembroke. On arrival officers observed patrons fleeing the establishment and damage to the club. Initially there were no complaints made; however, at 2:50am on Saturday, Police attended KEMH after a report of an assault.
