Robbery

Around 5:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victims, an 11 year old Southampton boy and a 12 year old Southampton boy (who are both grocery packers at the Heron Bay Marketplace), stated that they were waiting for the bus at the bus stop opposite the Heron Bay Marketplace on Middle Road in Southampton when they were approached by an unknown man who demanded money. Both boys refused; however, the suspect then brandished a knife and one of the boys gave the man $7 in cash. The suspect then went to the bus stop across the road. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 6'2" tall of slim build with short hair. He is believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, with a scar on his right cheek, a circular birth mark on the left side of his face and a light moustache. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 6 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 incidents of breaking and entering. There were also 18 damage only road traffic collisions and 6 road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
