Swimmer in Distress Rescued At Horseshoe Bay - Around 7:45pm on Monday, August 27th police and first responders attended a report of a swimmer in distress at Horseshoe Bay beach in Southampton. It appears that prior to police arrival, members of the public in the area rescued a man in apparent difficulty from the sea and rendered CPR. The victim, believed to be an Indian national in his mid-30s, was then taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check was in the Intensive Care Unit in stable condition.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend those members of the public who assisted in rescuing this reported swimmer in distress for their courageous efforts.

Traffic Advisory

Motorists are advised that due to roadwork currently underway in the area, a section of Reid Street near the junction with Burnaby Street in the City of Hamilton has been reduced to one lane until further notice.
