The Bermuda Police Service is investigating a report of an armed robbery which occurred around 11:30pm, Monday 16th January in the area of Redkiln Road, Hamilton Parish. A taxi had just dropped off a fare when, upon leaving, the driver was set upon by four males wearing helmets with visors and brandishing knives. The suspects demanded money and searched the interior of the taxi. Stolen were a cellphone and a quantity of cash. The taxi driver was not injured. Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information to contact the Eastern Criminal Investigations Unit at 293-2222 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.

Around 11pm, Monday 16th January police responded to an incident near the Warwick Shell Service Station on South Road. It appears that four men on motorcycles forcibly stopped the victim who was also riding a motorcycle. The suspects were brandishing weapons - one of which appeared to be a firearm. The suspects then stole cash and a BlackBerry phone. The victim was not injured and inquiries are ongoing.
