Motorists Ticketed During Road Checks - Between 7:30am and 9:30am on Wednesday January 4th, police officers monitored traffic in both the western and central parishes for offences under the Road Traffic Act as well as the recent legislation which prohibits the use of hand-held mobile phones or other hand-held devices whilst driving.
As a result, officers ticketed 15 people for using hand-held mobile phones or other hand-held devices whilst driving, issued one ticket for an unfastened helmet and arrested two people for outstanding warrants.
The officers were located in areas where they were able to stop offending motorists with minimum inconvenience to other road users.
The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the motoring public that officers will continue to monitor the Island’s roads for any offences including the use of hand-held mobile phones or other hand-held devices whilst driving.
