Impaired Driving - Around 6:45pm on Tuesday November 8th, police officers were on mobile patrol in the Crow Lane, Pembroke area when they came upon a single vehicle collision. It appears that a car was travelling along Crow Lane when it collided with the concrete centre divider. The driver, a 41 year old St. George’s woman was not injured; however she was later arrested and detained on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries are underway.
Around 12:15am on Wednesday November 9th, police responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Middle Road, Southampton near the junction with Church Road. It appears that a car was travelling on Middle Road when it collided with a wall. The driver, a 32 year old Southampton woman was not injured; however she was later arrested and detained on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries are underway.
Around 1:10am on Wednesday November 9th, police officers were on mobile patrol when they came upon a single vehicle collision on North Shore Road, Hamilton parish near the junction with Jennings Road. It appears that a motorcycle was travelling on North Shore Road when it collided with a wall. The rider, a 48 year old Hamilton parish man received minor injuries and was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and later released. He was subsequently arrested and detained on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries are underway.
A court appearance is anticipated for all three individuals in due course.
Stolen Van Recovered
The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a white van that was reported stolen on Saturday, November 5th. The van was recovered by police on Tuesday, November 8th in the Controversy Lane, Pembroke area. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.
