Robbery - At 11:45pm on Friday October 28th, police responded to a reported robbery at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road in Sandys. It appears that a 36 year old Sandys man was riding a motorcycle in the area when he was approached by an unknown man at the junction who demanded money. The suspect then assaulted the Sandys man before making good his escape on the victim’s motorcycle. The 36 year old man was injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of relatively minor injuries. The victim’s motorcycle was later recovered by police on Rockywold Road in Sandys. The suspect is described as brown-skinned, about 5’4” tall and in his early twenties. He was wearing dark coloured jeans, a T-shirt and a baseball cap. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Single Vehicle Collision
Around 3am on Sunday October 30th, police responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke near Blackwatch Pass. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Marsh Folly Road when it lost control and fell to the ground. The rider, a 22 year old Pembroke man was injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend, police officers conducted high visibility patrols in the City of Hamilton as well as at various locations throughout the island. This included stop and search checks. In addition, police arrested 10 people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
