Assault - Around 2am on Wednesday October 12th, police responded to a report of an assault on the corner of Court Street and Elliot Street in Pembroke. On arrival, police found a 40 year old Devonshire man who had apparently been assaulted and sustained stab wounds and injuries to his body. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. A 26 year old Pembroke man was arrested in connection with this incident. An investigation into this incident is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
