Fifth Road Fatality For 2011 - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 21 year old Shayne Adderley who succumbed to his injuries after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a taxi on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Camp Hill around 1:45am Saturday. Mr. Adderley was pronounced dead at the hospital at 6:15pm Saturday, October 8th by an on call doctor. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Adderley. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and any witnesses to this collision are encouraged to contact PC Latoyia Brunson on 295-0011.

Serious Collision in Smith’s Parish

Around 8pm on Saturday, police and first responders attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Verdmont Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Sayle Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along Verdmont Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 24 year old St. George’s man and his pillion passenger, a 17 year old St. George’s woman, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The pillion passenger was reportedly flown overseas for further medical care. The driver of the car, a 33 year old St. George’s woman, received minor injuries. Both vehicles were damaged. Handbag Snatch

Around 6pm on Saturday, police responded to a reported handbag snatch on South Road in Southampton near the junction with Turtle Place. It appears that a 51 year old female Canadian visitor was riding her rental cycle along South Road when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode by and removed a red backpack containing a Pentax digital camera and personal items. The 51 year old woman was not injured. The suspects are described as two men on a motorcycle wearing dark coloured helmets, with the pillion passenger wearing a light coloured hooded top.
