Recovered Firearm - At 2am on Monday 25th July, Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a South Road, Southampton establishment. Police were alerted to a 26 year old Southampton man who was acting suspiciously. At the conclusion of a short vehicle pursuit, the man and his vehicle were detained and searched, following which a loaded firearm was seized. He was arrested and detained pending further police investigations. There were no injuries reported. This recovery brings the number of firearms seized so far this year to six, and once again demonstrates the resolve of the Bermuda Police Service to make Bermuda safer and ensure we have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

Burglary
Around 8:30am on Saturday, July 23rd Police attended a reported burglary at an Industrial Park Road, Southampton business. It appears that sometime between 5:15pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the premises and stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010 or the main police number 295-0011.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Police officers also arrested 21 people for outstanding warrants and conducted 22 liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
