Serious Injury RTC in Devonshire - Around 3:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Montpelier Road in Devonshire near the junction with First Avenue. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Montpelier Road when it collided with a wall and a utility pole. The rider, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. His injuries are reportedly serious but are not believed to be life threatening at this time. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Assault
At 12:30pm on Saturday, police received a report of an assault. It appears that sometime between 2am and 2:30am that day the victim, an 18 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Washington Street in Pembroke accompanied by friends when he was assaulted by a group of young men. As a result the Pembroke man was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment. He is currently recovering on a general ward. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
