Sudden Death of David Jevon Saunders - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 33 year old David Jevon Saunders. Around 11:10am on Wednesday, police and first responders attended a reported medical emergency at a Valley Lane, Sandys parish residence where Mr. Saunders was found in an unresponsive state inside the home. Despite CPR at the scene and being rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, he was subsequently pronounced dead at 12:03pm. Foul play is not suspected and an autopsy is anticipated in due course. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Saunders.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 6:30pm on Wednesday, police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill involving a rental cycle. The rider, a 68 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured and received treatment at the scene by EMTs before being taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for further medical assessment. His injuries are believed to be relatively minor. The Hamilton parish man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
