Woman Arrested After Handbag Snatch - Around 2:30am on Sunday, police responded to a reported robbery in the Woodbourne Avenue, Pembroke area. It appears that two women were walking in the area when they were accosted by a group of unknown individuals. One member of the unknown group snatched a handbag from one of the women, a 26 year old from Pembroke; however officers were quickly on the scene and arrested a 19 year old Pembroke woman in connection with the incident. The victim was not injured. The other members of the group, believed to be three or four men, made good their escape on foot. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

The individual injured Saturday in a diving incident in the Admiralty House Park beach area is a 41 year old St. George’s man. At last check he remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit. He was initially identified as a 40 year old man.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Police officers also arrested 31 people for outstanding warrants and conducted 5 liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
