Update: Assault in Sandys Parish - A 25 year old Sandys parish man has been arrested in connection with the assault that occurred around midnight Thursday, in the vicinity of Woody’s Bar & Restaurant in Sandys parish. The victim, a 35 year old Sandys parish man, sustained several stab wounds and is currently in stable condition on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Man Arrested For Attempted Theft of Rental Cycle

At 2:25pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted theft of a rental cycle. It appears that sometime between 1:45pm and 2:10pm that day, an unknown man attempted to take the rental cycle from outside Eve’s Cycles in Dockyard. The suspect, a 52 year old Sandys parish man, was subsequently arrested and detained in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail; however a court appearance is anticipated in due course.
