Burglary - Around 3:45am on Monday, police attended a reported burglary at a Middle Town Lane, Pembroke residence. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however it appears that an unknown intruder gained entry into the home and was confronted by a male occupant. The intruder, a 33 year old man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment where he is listed in critical condition. The occupants were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Update: Serious RTC in Hamilton Parish

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the serious road traffic collision that took place around 7:45pm Sunday on Blue Hole Hill in Hamilton parish near the Causeway involving a motorcycle and a car. The rider of the motorcycle, a 33 year old man and his pillion passenger, also a 33 year old man, were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Initial reports suggested both men were trapped under the car as a result; however it is now apparent only one was. That victim is being flown overseas for further medical treatment while the other victim remains in stable condition at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the car, a 70 year old man, was not injured. Inquiries are ongoing. Any witnesses to this collision are encouraged to contact PC Anthony Thurab on 295-0011.
