Bermuda Day Police Activity - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their co-operation over the Bermuda Day holiday. Despite a few apparently minor disputes, there were no reports received of anyone being seriously injured. In addition no major incidents were reported.
Police officers provided high visibility patrols throughout the Bermuda Day holiday, conducting stop & search checks at various locations. Five people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and officers responded to seven reports of loud music.
Reported Disturbance on Front Street
Around 2am on Wednesday, Police responded to a reported disturbance on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. Officers observed two men involved in a verbal dispute and as a result one of the individuals, a 25 year old Paget man, was arrested. He was later cautioned and released. In addition two Pembroke men, a 27 year old and a 20 year old, were also arrested in connection with this incident. The 20 year old was injured and an ambulance attended the scene; however his injury is not believed to be serious. No one was willing to make a formal complaint and therefore both Pembroke men were later cautioned and released as well.
