Injury RTC in Smith's Parish - At 11am on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Cameron Close involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that both vehicles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 25 year old Pembroke man, sustained facial injuries; however he declined medical treatment from EMTs at the scene. The driver of the car, a 22 year old Sandys parish woman, was not injured. Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Productive Town Hall Meeting On Crime

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank everyone who came out to the Town Hall Meeting On Crime held at the Devonshire Seventh Day Adventist Church last night (Thursday, May 5th 2011) with the Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Perinchief and the Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva, moderated by Mr. Dwayne Caines. There were 275 people in attendance at the church and 1,200 people watching the open forum live online. As a result a robust two hour discussion of issues related to gang and gun violence took place with several suggestions regarding potential solutions made by members of the public. Police officers from various patrol and investigative units were also in attendance to show their support for the community and the police working together more effectively, including members of the Central Community Action Team and the Serious Crime Unit.

Collision Involving A Horse Drawn Carriage

Around 1:50pm on Thursday, police responded to a report of a horse drawn carriage that had bolted from its operator in the Dockyard area. However, on arrival members of the public and a police officer had managed to quickly bring the situation under control. There was relatively minor damage to a car and minor injuries to one of the two horses involved as well as the carriage operator, a 42 year old Paget man. No members of the public or visitors in the area were injured and property damage was minimal.

Search Warrant Executed

Around 1:45pm on Wednesday, Police executed a search warrant at a Court Street, Pembroke premises. As a result eight men and one woman were arrested with several items seized under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The investigation into this matter is ongoing.
