Man Arrested in Connection With Suspicious Death of Denise Evans-Wilkinson - On Tuesday 3rd May 2011, officers from the Serious Crime Unit arrested a 46 year old Pembroke man on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody while investigators continue to pursue various lines of inquiry, but he has not been formally charged with any offences.

Update  – Jason Smith Murder Investigation

The investigation into the shooting murder of Jason Smith is ongoing with a number of witness statements being recorded and persons of interest spoken to, however there have been no arrests so far and investigators are still appealing for persons to contact police on 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477 if they have any information on this matter.

Town Hall Meeting Tomorrow Night

The public are reminded that a town hall meeting on crime will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 5th 2011 at the Devonshire Seventh Day Adventist Church on Roberts Avenue. The Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Perinchief CPM JP MP and Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva will be on hand to engage with the community and answer questions regarding the recent violence with a view to discussing possible solutions. Everyone is invited to come out and take part in this open forum. We also invite those who are interested but cannot make the event to send in their questions via e-mail to pmr@bps.bm or interact with the Bermuda Police Service on Facebook or Twitter.

Missing Person Alfred Smith Located

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating 88 year old Alfred Smith. Mr. Smith was located on the evening of Monday, May 2nd safe and sound.
