Missing Person: Alfred Smith - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 88 year old
Alfred Smith (pictured). Mr. Smith was last seen at 10am on Sunday, May 1st 2011 at the bus stop outside the Warwick Bowl. It is believed that he intended to catch the bus to Somerset. Mr. Smith is described as 5’7” tall of dark complexion with light brown eyes wearing a beige hat, rainbow coloured striped shirt and brown pants. He is known to frequent the Cambridge Road, Sandys parish area. Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of 88 year old Alfred Smith is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.
Town Hall Meeting On Crime
A town hall meeting on crime will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, May 5th 2011 at the Devonshire Seventh Day Adventist Church on Roberts Avenue. The Minister of National Security the Hon. Wayne Perinchief CPM JP MP and Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva will be on hand to engage with the community on the current state of affairs and answer questions. Everyone is invited to come out and take part in this open forum.
Reminder – Marsh Folly Road Closure
The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the public that Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke from the junction of Dutton Avenue to the junction of Bishop Spencer Road is currently closed as repairs are carried out on a fuel pipeline to the Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO). The Ministry of Works & Engineering apologizes for the road closure and asks that all motorists cooperate with traffic control devices in the Marsh Folly Road area. Police are also asking for the motoring public to abide by the temporary traffic lights at that location for the safety of all road users. The work along Marsh Folly Road is expected to continue until Sunday, May 15th.
Weekend Police Activity
Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Police officers also arrested 8 people for outstanding warrants and conducted 9 liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
