Sudden Death - Around 2pm on Friday, Police responded to a report of a body in the waters off the Mill Point Road, Pembroke area. The unidentified lifeless body of a black female wearing a medical bracelet for diabetes was recovered and a full investigation into this incident is underway. No further information will be released until the next of kin has been notified. Detectives are attempting to identify the deceased and appeal for anyone who may have a missing family member or friend or anyone with any information to contact the main police number 295-0011 or the independent confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.
Road Closure
The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that from 7am Sunday, May 1st to 6pm Sunday, May 15th 2011 Marsh Folly Road in Pembroke from the junction of Dutton Avenue to the junction of Bishop Spencer Road will be closed. The road closure is necessary to allow for repairs to be carried out on the Esso fuel pipeline to the Bermuda Electric Light Company (BELCO).
As a safety precaution all traffic and pedestrians traveling along Marsh Folly Road will not be permitted while this work takes place. There will also be parking restrictions in the area. If the work cannot be carried out at the scheduled times due to inclement weather, it will be rescheduled.
The Ministry of Works & Engineering apologizes for the road closure and asks that all motorists cooperate with traffic control devices in the Marsh Folly Road area.
