Attempted Robbery - At 5:25pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported attempted robbery at Par-La-Ville Park in the City of Hamilton. It appears that around 5:10pm that day two American male visitors were accosted by a local male near the public restroom facilities on Queen Street. During the confrontation the suspect struck one of the visitors, a 48 year old man, with a blunt object causing a head wound. Members of the public intervened and as a result the suspect, a 37 year old Devonshire man, was arrested. A 40 year old Pembroke woman was also arrested in connection with the incident. The second male visitor, a 42 year old man, was not injured and nothing was taken from either visitor. Apparently the victim’s injury did not require hospital treatment. Inquiries into this incident are underway by the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit.

Damage Only RTC

At 7:30am on Sunday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision at the junction of North Shore Road and Radnor Road in Hamilton parish. It appears that a car was traveling along North Shore Road when it collided with a wall. As a result the vehicle and the wall were extensively damaged. The occupant(s) of the vehicle left the scene prior to Police arrival. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact PC Witton Williams on 295-0011.

Opening of Hamilton Police Station

The new Hamilton Police Station will open for business at 8am on Tuesday, April 26th 2011. It is located on the corner of Court Street and Victoria Street in Pembroke.
