Productive Western Parishes Town Hall Meeting - The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank everyone who came out to the Western Parishes Town Hall meeting at Port Royal Primary School on Tuesday, April 12th. The meeting started just after 7pm and lasted for approximately two hours, covering a range of topics including but not limited to:

  • CCTV coverage
  • Loitering
  • Road safety
  • Forming an effective Neighbourhood Watch

Officers from the Western Division chaired the forum which was attended by approximately 50 area residents. There were also various notable public figures in the audience such as Attorney General & Minister of Justice Mr. Michael Scott JP MP, Mr. Dennis Lister JP MP, Mr. Dale Butler JP MP, Senator & former Police Commissioner Mr. Jonathan Smith OBE CPM JP and Shadow Minister of Works & Engineering Ms. Patricia Gordon Pamplin JP MP as well as lawyers Mr. Larry Scott and Mr. Llewellyn Peniston.

After a brief presentation on recent policing initiatives in the west end a robust discussion took place with various questions coming from members of the audience. Many of the residents indicated that they would like to see more of a police presence in the area to help deter crime and address perennial issues like loitering while the police officers present stressed the importance of working together with members of the community to deal with any criminal activity in the vicinity.
