Road Fatality Identified - The Bermuda Police Service can confirm the death of 49 year old Timothy Joseph Pedro of Sousa Estate Road in Devonshire. Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 6pm on Thursday, April 7th on Middle Road in Devonshire and Parsons Lane. As a result Mr. Pedro was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6:22pm. Police are appealing for anyone that may have seen this collision to please contact PC Steven Darrell on 299-4388. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Timothy Pedro and this marks the 2nd road traffic fatality for 2011.
Inquiry Into Inappropriate Communication
Contrary to comments reported in some news outlets that the Bermuda Police Service is not investigating a report of inappropriate communication of a teacher with a student at one of the island's private schools; we wish to reassure the public that the Bermuda Police Service takes this matter very seriously and a full investigation will be conducted to determine what offences if any have been committed. The investigation is being headed up by officers from Vulnerable Persons Unit (VPU) of the Bermuda Police Service. We are appealing for anyone with any information on this matter to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011.
