Robbery - Around 5:10pm on Thursday, Police responded to a reported robbery outside Maximart on Middle Road in Sandys parish. It appears that sometime between 4:30pm and 5pm that day the victim, a 28 year old Paget man, was sitting in a van outside the premises when he was accosted by two unknown men, one brandishing a bladed article. One of the suspects took the victim’s gold necklace before both suspects fled the scene on foot along Fairhaven Lane. The victim was not injured. One suspect is described as a light skinned black male between 25-30 years old, approximately 5’9” tall of husky build weighing around 210 pounds with a close cut hair style. He was wearing a white T-shirt, light colored jeans and white sneakers. The other suspect is described as a dark skinned black male around 20 years old, approximately 5’9” tall of slim build weighing around 140 pounds wearing a puffy black jacket with the hood over his head. He had on dark jeans and black/red sneakers. Inquiries are underway and anyone who may have been in the Maximart area around the time of the incident or anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010 or the independent, confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.
Injury RTC in Smith’s Parish
At 8:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Store Hill in Smith’s parish involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling along North Shore Road and the car was traveling along Store Hill when the vehicles collided at the junction. The rider of the motorcycle, a 28 year old Southampton woman, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 29 year old Hamilton parish woman, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the car received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Thefts From Unattended Vehicles
Police have received reports of thefts from unattended vehicles parked in the Fairpoint Gardens and Rosemount Avenue areas of Pembroke overnight. Overall it appears that small quantities of loose change were taken. The public is reminded to securely lock their vehicles before leaving them unattended and encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles, activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
