Disturbance on Front Street - Around 3:15am on Thursday, Police responded to a reported disturbance on Front Street in the City of Hamilton near the junction with Parliament Street. Officers observed several individuals engaged in a scuffle at the scene. Most of those involved fled on foot as Police attempted to diffuse the situation. However, two 18 year old Pembroke men that participated in the fracas were arrested and detained. A court appearance is anticipated.
Injury RTC in Hamilton Parish
Around 10:30pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Radnor Road involving two motorcycles. It appears that both motorcycles were traveling along North Shore Road when they collided. The pillion passenger on one of the motorcycles, a 17 year old young man from Pembroke, apparently sustained a hand injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The riders of the motorcycles, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man and a 24 year old Hamilton parish man, were not injured. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. Inquiries are underway.
Burglary Advisory
There were four reported burglaries between 7am Wednesday, March 16th and 7am Thursday, March 17th 2011 – one each in Sandys parish, Southampton, Pembroke and Smith’s parish. Overall a quantity of cash, jewelry and electronic items were taken.
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries by making sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious vehicles, activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
