The Bermuda Police Service is awaiting amendments to the Traffic Offences Procedure Act & the Traffic Offences (Penalties) Act from the legislature to enable officers to ticket offences relating to driving while using a mobile phone. As such, there are administrative challenges enforcing the new legislation as widely as we would like. However, drivers can be ticketed for driving without due care and attention and officers are ticketing people for that offence if observed.
