Robbery - Around 12:50am on Sunday, Police responded to a report of a robbery. It appears that around 12:35am the victim, a 34 year old taxi driver from Sandys parish took four unknown men to Seawall Drive in Sandys parish. Once at that location the taxi driver was accosted by the four passengers. They took the victim’s cellular phone before fleeing the scene. The taxi driver was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. Two of the suspects, an 18 year old Warwick man and a 20 year old Sandys parish man were subsequently arrested in connection with this incident. Inquiries are ongoing. Around 3:55am on Saturday, Police responded to a reported robbery on Richmond Road in Pembroke. It appears that around 3:45am the victim, a 31 year old U. K. woman, was walking along Richmond Road in the vicinity of The Robin Hood Pub & Restaurant when she was accosted by two unknown men on a motorcycle. One of the men brandished what appeared to be a firearm and demanded the visitor’s possessions before both suspects made good their escape heading west along Richmond Road with the U. K. woman’s handbag containing a quantity of cash and personal items. The 31 year old visitor was not injured. The main suspect is described as approximately 5’10” tall of slim build wearing dark coloured clothing and a black helmet without a visor. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Update - Robbery
Inquiries are ongoing into a reported robbery that occurred around 4:45pm on Friday in the Transport Control Department (TCD) parking lot on North Street in Pembroke. The bag taken containing a quantity of cash was subsequently recovered, including the cash. Police are appealing for any information about a second suspect, described as a brown skinned man of slim build, approximately 5’8” to 5’ 10” tall wearing a beige or light coloured long sleeved top and a black helmet.
