Update: Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 39 year old David Mutch of Sandys parish. Mr. Mutch’s body was found by family members inside his Wreck Road, Sandys parish residence around 11:10am on Thursday. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 1:30pm. An autopsy is anticipated; however foul play is not suspected. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Disturbance

Inquiries are ongoing into a disturbance that occurred in the Wellington Oval, St. George’s area Thursday afternoon following the Dudley Eve Cup Final football match. It appears that a group of men were involved in an altercation; however officers responded to the scene quickly and addressed the situation. There have been no reported injuries. A high visibility Police presence was maintained in the area until all football players and supporters left the grounds. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

Injury RTC

Around 7:20am on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Burnt House Hill in Warwick. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along Burnt House Hill when the rider, a 36 year old Sandys parish man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Sandys parish man sustained a leg injury and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The motorcycle received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 1am on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Verdmont Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Sayle Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Verdmont Road when the driver, a 29 year old Southampton man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Southampton man was not injured; however he was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage and the wall was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
