Burglary - Around 12:50am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at Tools & Equipment on North Street in Pembroke. It appears that around 12:45am that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises and was confronted by the victim, a 64 year old Paget man, who was working late inside the store. Apparently the intruder attacked the Paget man with an object before escaping. Nothing appears to have been taken from the store. The victim was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of serious head injuries. Initially he was in serious but stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit before being flown overseas for further medical care. The suspect is described as approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall, possibly a dark skinned man of slim to medium build wearing a hat and long jeans. In addition, the suspect is believed to be less than 40 years old. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this matter to contact Detective Constable Eddie Shillingford at the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Around 5pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Princeton Lane, Warwick residence. It appears that sometime on Thursday, September 9th an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash & jewelry as well as two BlackBerry cellular phones. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
