Robbery - Around 9:40pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery on South Road in Southampton, near the junction with Lighthouse Road. It appears that the victim, a 29 year old Sandys parish woman, was at a bus stop when she was accosted by an unknown man who demanded her purse. The suspect managed to take the purse and fled the scene on foot before riding away on a motorcycle in a westerly direction. The Sandys parish woman was not injured. The green purse has green embroidered flowers on it and contained a quantity of cash as well as personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Attempted Robbery

Around 1:20am on Wednesday, Police received a report of an attempted robbery that apparently occurred in the area of Burnaby Street and Reid Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that the victim, a 42 year old Sandys parish man, was walking along Burnaby Street when he was accosted by two unknown men on a grey auxiliary cycle. The men demanded money and a struggle ensued; however the two assailants fled empty handed. The victim sustained an injury to his left arm and complained of chest pain. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and at last check was on a general ward. The suspects are described as two black men dressed in dark coloured clothing; one approximately 5’8” tall of slim build and the other approximately 6’ tall of stocky build. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Damage Only RTC

Around 8:50am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a damage only road traffic collision at the junction of Middle Road and Hermitage Road in Devonshire involving three vehicles. It appears that a jeep was exiting Hermitage Road while a van and car were traveling west on Middle Road when the vehicles collided. The drivers of the vehicles, a 46 year old Devonshire woman, a 58 year old Smith’s parish woman and a 33 year old Hamilton parish woman, were not injured. The jeep and the van received extensive front end damage while the car received minor front end damage.
