The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Most of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with 2 cars also reported stolen during the period. Of the 27 vehicles reported stolen, 4 were subsequently recovered, including one of the cars.
Burglary
At 1:15am on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Smith’s parish guest property. It appears that an unknown man brandishing what appeared to be a bladed article gained entry into a visiting couple’s room. The intruder demanded money and removed a quantity of cash before making good his escape. The visitors were not injured. The suspect is described as a black man, approximately 6’3” tall of slim build wearing black clothing. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George’s Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.
Missing Person - Calvin Hansey Sr.
The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 75 year old Calvin Hansey Sr. of Pembroke. Mr. Hansey was last seen at his residence around 7pm on Friday, 27th August 2010 by a family member. He is described as dark skinned, 5’9” tall of slim build and clean shaven. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue boxer shorts. Mr. Hansey is known to walk daily in the area of Montpelier Road, Middle Road and North Shore Road, Devonshire.
Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Mr. Calvin Hansey Sr. is encouraged to contact the Vulnerable Persons Unit on 295-0011 as he is a senior citizen in need of medical attention.
