Marine Incident - At 3:29pm on Saturday, police responded to a marine incident that took place at Somerset Long Bay Beach in Sandys parish. It appears that a 35 year old Paget man (contract worker) was kite surfing along the shoreline around Somerset Long Bay when he apparently lost control of his kite-board and was dragged onto the rocks resulting in the Paget man suffering hand, leg and severe head injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was listed in critical condition. The most recent information is that the 35 year old Paget man has been airlifted off of the island for further medical care. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact the Somerset Police Station on 234-1010.
