Police responded to a report of a confirmed firearm incident that took place at 3:45 this afternoon at the junction of Middle Road and Woodlawn Road in Sandys parish. It appears that a man traveling on a motorcycle in the aforementioned area was shot. The 19 year old man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is currently being treated for his injuries.

Presently the area around the shooting has been cordoned off and traffIc has been diverted to the Railway Trail. We are thanking the public in advance for their cooperation in this matter.

Police are asking for anyone that may have witnessed the incident or seen anyone acting suspiciously to contact police on 295-0011 or contact the confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.
