Update: House Fire - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 67 year old Gordon Howard of Warwick. Mr. Howard was pronounced dead at 2:09am on Wednesday by a doctor at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Howard. The investigation into the cause of the fire at his Fairways Road, Warwick residence is ongoing.
Injury RTC
At 4:20pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Par-La-Ville Road and Serpentine Road in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on Serpentine Road and the motorcycle was traveling south on Par-La-Ville Road when the vehicles collided as they attempted to negotiate the round-a-bout. The rider of the motorcycle, a 35 year old Smith’s parish woman, sustained abrasions to her left arm and knee while the driver of the car, a 78 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. The car received minor damage while the motorcycle received moderate damage.
Burglary
Around 5pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Dolly’s Bay Lane, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime between 8:15am and 4:45pm that day an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an I-Pod and a PlayStation 3 video game system. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Around 4pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Lighthouse Hill, St. George’s residence. It appears that sometime between 9:45am and 3:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied; however it does not appear that anything was taken. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Advisory
The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
