Injury RTC - Around 8:25am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road involving a taxi and a motorcycle. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however the rider of the motorcycle, a 48 year old Warwick man, sustained leg & arm injuries, as well as abrasions to his forehead. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the taxi, a 76 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. The taxi received moderate front end damage while the motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Shalimar Grant on 295-0011.

Update – Serious Injury RTC

Around 5:55pm on Tuesday, Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Parsons Road in Pembroke near the junction with Field View Lane involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the vehicles were traveling in opposite directions on Parsons Road when they collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 28 year old St. George’s man, sustained serious head injuries. He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. He is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. The driver of the car, an 85 year old Devonshire woman, was not injured. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage while the car received moderate front end damage. Inquiries are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Rawle Massiah on 295-0011.

Arrest

Today, a 23 year old St George's man was arrested in connection with the assault of a 25 year old St. George's man in the Mount Road, St. George's area around 8:30pm Monday. The suspect remains in custody at Southside Police Station assisting Police with their enquiries.
