Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving - At 3:15am today, Police attended a reported damage only road traffic collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Scenic Heights Pass involving a car and a taxi. It appears that the car was traveling east on Middle Road and the taxi was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The driver of the car, a 22 year old Paget man and the driver of the taxi, a 48 year old Warwick man were not injured. The driver of the car was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Both the car and the taxi received extensive damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 1:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a North Shore Road, Smith’s parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 11am and 1:15pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry as well as a black I-Pod. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 12:30pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Cherry Hill, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:30am and 12:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
