The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

All of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles. Of the 18 vehicles reported stolen, 5 were subsequently recovered.
Injury RTC
At 12:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Lane Hill and Cavendish Road in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling up Lane Hill and the motorcycle was traveling west on Cavendish Road when the vehicles collided at the junction. The rider of the motorcycle, a 56 year old Smith’s parish man, sustained facial injuries as well as lacerations to his hands and legs. The driver of the car, a 63 year old Hamilton parish man, was not injured. Both vehicles received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Oren Merker on 295-0011.
Removed Vehicles
At 8:30pm on Monday, Police received reports of two vehicles taken without their owners’ consent from the City of Hamilton. In the first, the complainant stated that sometime between 11am and 7:50pm that day, an unknown culprit removed her black Vespa auxiliary cycle displaying license plate 828 AK from the City Hall bike parking area near Wesley Street . In the second, the complainant stated that sometime between 4:30pm and 8:10pm that day, an unknown culprit removed her black Vespa motorcycle displaying license plate BR 631 from the City Hall bike parking area near Wesley Street. Inquiries into both incidents are underway. Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the whereabouts of auxiliary cycle 828 AK and or motorcycle BR 631 to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
