Injury RTC - Around 1:50pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Tee Street in Devonshire involving two cars. It appears that one car was traveling west on Middle Road and the other car was traveling north on Tee Street when the vehicles collided at the junction. The driver of the northbound car, a 23 year old Warwick man, was not injured; however the driver of the westbound car, a 62 year old Warwick man, suffered chest pain. Both cars received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Damage Only RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 12:30am on Saturday, Police were on mobile patrol along Front Street in the City of Hamilton when they were stopped by a member of the public who reported seeing a hit and run. It appears that a car traveling east on Front Street collided with a parked car near the junction with Parliament Street. The eastbound car then left the scene. Officers subsequently located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Paget Ice Queen and arrested the driver, a 26 year old Southampton woman, on suspicion of impaired driving. She was detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Both vehicles received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 10:10am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Spice Hill Road, Warwick residence. The complainants stated that sometime during the day on Friday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries, as several took place over the weekend in various parishes throughout the island. All residents should make sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 5 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries. There were also 16 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 6 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 4 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
