Injury RTC - Around 6:05am today, Police & first responders attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Middle Road and Dudley Hill in Paget involving a motorcycle and a car. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided as the car attempted to turn on to Dudley Hill. The rider of the motorcycle, a 32 year old Sandys parish man, was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 20 year old Devonshire man, was not injured; however his passenger, a 22 year old Paget woman, was injured. She had to be extricated from the car before being taken to the hospital via ambulance for treatment. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately two hours. Inquiries into this incident are underway. The car and the motorcycle received extensive left side damage and extensive front end damage respectively.
Update - Sudden Death
The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 56 year old Colin Brown of Warwick. Around 9pm on Thursday, Mr. Brown’s lifeless body was seen floating in the waters of Hamilton harbour (in the vicinity of ' Paradise Lakes'). The Police Marine Unit conveyed the deceased to Barrs Bay Park where he was subsequently pronounced dead by an on call physician at 10:25pm. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and an autopsy is expected to be conducted today. Foul play is not suspected at this time. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mr. Brown.
Update – Reported Armed Burglary
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a burglary that took place at a residence on Slip Point Lane in St. George’s at 11:40am on Thursday. A quantity of cash was taken by the culprits and what appeared to be a firearm was brandished; however no one was injured. The suspects are described as a dark brown skinned male, approximately 5’8” tall of medium/stocky build wearing a grey hooded top, dark blue jeans and white sneakers; and a dark brown skinned male, approximately 6’ tall of slim build wearing a black hooded top, blue jeans and white sneakers. An active investigation into this incident is ongoing. Theft from Marine Vessels
The Bermuda Police Service Marine Unit is currently investigating several reports of theft from unattended vessels in the Riddell’s Bay and Jew’s Bay Southampton area. Anyone with any information which may assist Police in these investigations should call the Marine Unit at 299-4585 or the Crime Stoppers Bermuda confidential hotline on 800-8477. The Marine Unit would like to remind boat owners not to leave any valuables onboard their vessel whilst unattended and to secure all personal property which may be left onboard.
