Vehicle Fire - Around 12:30pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on Ballast Point Road in St. George’s. It appears that a cement truck was delivering a load of cement to a Ballast Point Road residence. As the truck attempted to leave the area it failed to make it up a hill, sliding back down and going over an embankment. As a result the cement truck entered the main road, disrupting traffic for a time. The truck driver, a 38 year old St. George’s man, managed to get out of the vehicle before the front end was engulfed in flames. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire. The truck driver was not injured; however the front end of the cement truck was extensively damaged. No further Police action is anticipated.
